A successful design typically combines these components:

The Scroll: The foundational element. It can be a C-scroll (a simple, single curve), an S-scroll (a more flowing, double curve), or a combination of both. The scrolls create the flowing, rhythmic structure of the border.

The Flower / Rosette: Often placed at the center of an S-scroll or at the terminus of a C-scroll. It can be a simple, stylized flower with a few petals or a more detailed, layered rosette.
